What was meant to be a traditional “men-only” winter getaway turns into something entirely different when three fathers are forced to take their six children with them to a mountain cabin. Instead of peace and relaxation, they face snow, chaos, and the realities of parenting. Yet it soon becomes clear that, in certain situations, dads can be surprisingly capable caregivers – especially when the moms are far away.
The film’s magic lies in its natural, heartfelt humor. There are no vulgar jokes or forced punchlines – just relatable situations, gentle irony, and perfectly timed performances. Július Satinský, Václav Postránecký, and Pavel Nový form an unforgettable trio whose chemistry carries the entire story.
Behind the scenes, the film has its own legendary moments. One iconic scene – in which Václav Postránecký breaks a ski and crashes into an outdoor toilet – was never planned. Even the production itself was nearly cancelled, saved only by last-minute accommodation made available due to cancelled tourist bookings during political unrest in Poland.
Director Marie Poledňáková struggled to cast the role of Albert and eventually chose Július Satinský, despite doubts surrounding his reputation. History proved her right – his performance became iconic and remains beloved to this day.
