The autumn of 1989 and the hectic early years of the nineties that followed. Open borders, an ocean of new possibilities and opportunities. This is the foundation of a new novel set in the student environment (and beyond). The childhood and adolescence of the main character Anna Pišťárová, a fresh student of the Faculty of Architecture at ČVUT, are anchored in two previous books (Veškerá podobnost a jiné kotrmelce, 2001; Všechno, co svrbí, jednou svrbět přestane, 2007). Now, the reader has the opportunity to follow her during a time of intense political conflict, where the absurdity of life's struggles gains a grotesque dimension, a fierce effort to touch upon the essence of humanity through the prism of bitter humor. Anna experiences her first romantic relationship, an abortion, and the awkwardness of female eroticism. Alongside her story, the book develops the line of an eccentric companion, retiree Josef Makowski, and his late-life love. In Anna, among other things, a deep need for generational confrontation is also maturing.
