I spent my childhood, teenage years, and most of my adult life in Brno. And even though I've been living in Prague for about sixteen years now, Brno remains in my heart, and every place I know there, where I've experienced something and had acquaintances, is tied to some story, experience, dream... Everything is etched so deeply in my memory that it seems impossible to erase. So I had to transform what I remember into my mind and write it down freely. This novella emerged from that, in which I paraphrase what I have experienced and imagined. Brno characters and figures, both known and unknown, enter into true and untrue events, stories, and dreams. This environment serves as a backdrop for the life of a young man, which I was a bit as well. Thank you for walking through Brno with the main character in this story, but also partly through my life. Arnošt Goldflam
