Beschreibung
SHOCKING STORIES FROM WORLD WAR II 1946, Świdnica. A transport of prisoners – former SS men, executioners in concentration camps – arrives in the city. Among them are guards from the Gross-Rosen concentration camp, captured by the Allies and Soviets in 1945. A lengthy investigation begins, in which the Polish prosecutor's office tries to prove their guilt. Thousands of pages of documents, hundreds of witnesses, hours of hearings, and months of waiting for the verdict. From today's perspective, these trials are compared to the Nuremberg trials of war criminals. The cases described reveal an unknown face of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp. A homosexual kapo who abused underage boys, a Jewish kapo who could be more brutal than the German SS men, sadists who had no qualms about killing by any means available. This is just part of the truth that was uncovered during the Świdnica trials in Poland's so-called 'little Nuremberg.'
