The fate of the chocolate dynasty Hamburg, 1919. War events disrupted the plans of the Hannemann family, who had been cocoa importers for several generations and owned the company Hannemann & Tietz. Young, enterprising, and passionate Frieda, the second child of the family, is able to take over the leadership of the company instead of her irresponsible brother. Of course, only after she has demonstrated her remarkable business skills in a new venture – the production of chocolate delicacies – despite her mother's distrust and the circle of wealthy cocoa merchants in the city. Although Frieda spends her time studying and creating new recipes, her family wishes for her to marry a man who is in sight and would be able to put the company's accounting back in order. However, her heart already belongs to another. The only way to avoid parting with happiness and accepting the fate that others have chosen for her is to focus on her culinary experiments to prevent the collapse of Hannemann & Tietz during the difficult post-war period.
