Synopsis
Eva Gerová's debut alongside Zita Kabátová is based on the novel by Marie Blažková. The film, originally titled 'Manželství na úvěr' (Marriage on Credit), is a successful adaptation of Blažková's novel, initially published in Hvězda. Set in Prague instead of the original Ostrava setting, the film introduces the audience to a young Eva Gerová, only sixteen at the time, and the increasingly popular Věra Ferbasová. The story revolves around the romantic lives of sisters Ley and Ema Pohl, and the comedic escapades of Kristýna Žitná, Ema's classmate. The film garnered favorable responses and sustained public interest throughout the winter season of 1936/1937.
