Madla zpiva Evrope DVD
Synopsis
Madla Satranová is a charming young orphan living in the remote Šumava village of Lesov. Her life changes when Dr. Šerk, a collector of folk songs, arrives in the village. Madla, the village's best singer, captivates him with her renditions of Chodské songs. Impressed, Dr. Šerk shares his discovery with his friend, the choir master of an orphanage choir, Mr. Klán, who invites Madla to collaborate. This simple village girl, with her silver voice, goes on to bring fame to Czech music across Europe. Directed by Václav Binovec during the early years of the Protectorate, this successful adaptation of Jan Wenig's novella stars the popular child actress Zdenka Sulanová. The film's popularity was also boosted by the song "Ty lesovské stráně", which became a hit during the Protectorate period. The cast includes well-known actors Ladislav Boháč, Zita Kabátová, Antonie Nedošinská, František Filipovský, and features child roles by Jiřina Bohdalová and Antonín Jedlička.
