Synopsis
Vincenc Babočka, an insignificant employee at a police station, privately fantasizes about being a detective, convinced of his exceptional abilities. A vacation in Karlovy Vary unexpectedly provides him with the opportunity to prove his worth. Mistakenly identified as the international fugitive Leon Weber, Babočka decides to take advantage of the confusion to expose Weber's accomplices, who are planning to steal diamonds belonging to the Maharaja of Yohir. According to Weber's plan, Babočka, disguised as General Nariškin, befriends the Maharaja. Everything goes smoothly until the real Weber shows up in town...
