Synopsis
The fairy tale of all Czech fairy tales tells the story of the proud Princess Krasomila, who refused to marry King Miroslav. However, Miroslav did not take this lightly and disguised himself as a gardener to enter her service at the castle. Through hard work and love, he managed to correct the princess's pride, starting by growing a singing flower for her. This was no easy feat in the Midnight Kingdom, where the king, influenced by treacherous advisors, had banned singing. Before everything turned out well, King Miroslav and Princess Krasomila had to flee the castle, hide among common people, and in doing so, Krasomila discovered many things she had never known. This charming film fairy tale directed by Bořivoj Zeman broke attendance records and has become a staple of Christmas broadcasts, though it delights audiences at any time of the year. Princess Krasomila was played by the young Alena Vránová, who was still known as Kohoutová at the time of filming and the film's first release.
