Synopsis
Men in Offside / Muzi v offsidu
The timeless comedy 'Men in Offside' was directed in 1931 by Svatopluk Innemann, based on the humoristic novel of the same name by Karel Poláček. This sports comedy was a somewhat unique phenomenon in Czech film dramaturgy at the time, despite its extraordinary success with audiences, calling for rapid follow-up. The film, which ran in Prague's premiere cinemas for 12 weeks and received highly favorable reviews, owed its success equally to Poláček's witty source material and the excellent performances, dominated by the character Mr. Načeradec, portrayed by the remarkable actor Hugo Haas in his first major film role. His co-stars included Jindřich Plachta as old Habásek, Theodor Pištěk as Mr. Šefelín, and Jaroslav Vojta in the minor role of Mr. Hátle. The less prominent lovers' pair, caricatured by Eman Fiala and Jiřina Štěpničková, also contributed, with Štěpničková in one of her first film roles. Fans of old Prague and sports enthusiasts will appreciate the documentary footage from the Letná football stadium, including a cameo by popular radio editor Josef Laufer.

Synopsis
Naceradec, King of Kibitzer / Neceradec, Kral kibicu
In Načeradec, King of the Fans, a sequel to the 1931 comedy 'Men in Offside' directed by Svatopluk Innemann, viewers revisit the life of passionate Slavia football fan and clothing shop owner Richard Načeradec (played by H. Haas). The original film was based on a story by Karel Poláček. In this follow-up directed by Gustav Machatý, Načeradec no longer attends football matches but naturally channels his commentator and rabble-rousing energy into everyday life, always having something to say about everything. He proudly proclaims himself as the 'king of the fans.' One evening, Načeradec gets into a trivial argument over a chess game with Jaroslav Dundr (J. Vojta), who owns a similar shop across the street, escalating their dispute to the point of ending up in court. Their spat is amusingly observed by a young, in-love couple both practicing law – Načeradec's daughter (H. Vítová) and Dundr's son (R. Roda-Růžička), who are set to represent their fathers in court.
