Lelicek in the Services of Sherlock Holmes / Lelicek ve sluzbach Sherlocka Holmesa DVD
Synopsis
Puerto Rican King Fernando XXIII, fearing an assassination attempt, asks the famous detective Holmes to find him a double. Holmes discovers František Lelíček, a notorious debtor from Moravian Brodek, who is a spitting image of the king. Chased by creditors, Lelíček accepts the offer. The young and beautiful queen, refusing to flee to exile with her cowardly husband, is charmed by Lelíček's energetic approach. Lelíček impresses her with his bold behavior at bullfights and his calmness during an assassination attempt, leading to a passionate affair between them. Meanwhile, treacherous ministers plot another assassination attempt using a bomb hidden in a gramophone set to go off during the new national anthem. Holmes, narrowly escaping from the cellar where the assassins had locked him, saves both Lelíček and the queen. With Fernando dead in exile, Lelíček, now in love with the queen and content in his role as king, refuses to step down. He threatens to expose the scandal internationally, forcing the ministers to keep him in the position.
