Description
Synopsis
Václav Barvínek, an animal taxidermist, spends twenty-four hours in jail due to a petty dispute. Coincidentally, it's the same day his uncle's will is read, revealing that the deceased has hidden a million-crown check somewhere. If not cashed within a specified time, the entire sum will go to charity. While other relatives have plundered the estate, the uncle's villa remains with only an abandoned Saint Bernard, whom kind-hearted Barvínek takes in. Unaware of his impending wealth, the deprived heir continues his simple life, preoccupied with other concerns. His heart, however, is ignited by love for a girl whose kindness he misinterprets...
