Description
A book about the early life of Rev. Son Myong Moon. In 1948, when he was a young preacher, the communist regime of North Korea sentenced him to five years in a labor camp for 'disturbing public order.' The conditions in prison were so brutal that hundreds of people died there from exhaustion and hunger. When Moon described this period, he said he constantly prayed, 'God, don't worry about me.' He felt that his suffering and the suffering of other prisoners had already caused God enough pain. Thus, we have two Son Myong Moons before us: the generally known disruptor of society and the man who does not want to hurt God's feelings. This book tells the story of the lesser-known man. The author, Michael Breen - a Seoul correspondent for The Washington Times and The Guardian - spent several years seeking out people who knew Son Myong Moon as a young man and conducted interviews with them.
