Three travelers explored Thailand, Vietnam, and their countries with lush, bizarre nature for three months, admiring the explosions of color in the tropical flora, their national parks, and the remnants of medieval temples and shrines, discovering Southeast Asian towns, the landscape of rice fields, and jungle-covered mountains, as well as giant metropolises. They encountered mostly kind and friendly, but occasionally repulsive behavior from the locals, along with their customs, wanting to understand their national character, religion, preferred values, and superstitions. The youngest of the travelers, photographer, graphic designer, and publisher Jiří Nosek, accompanied his mother, writer Věra Nosková, and his friend from the water, Martin Pacovský, on the trail of his former pilgrimage, from which he was separated not only by eight years but also by overcoming the effects of a stroke, from which he recovered through sheer will and tireless exercise. He planned and organized a long and diverse journey, the likes of which the two had embarked on for the first time in their lives after tame vacations with travel agencies. The challenging and adventurous journey changed them all physically, while also toughening them up as travelers and exposing them to a different world.
