Description
Julie's mother, in her quest to be the center of attention, has decided that her daughter is sick, and so she drags the little girl from doctor to doctor. When one says the girl is healthy, she rushes to another to confirm that her daughter is on the brink of death. Meanwhile, the little girl suffers from hunger and is forced to lick matches to somehow support her mother's claims. Julie undergoes various painful examinations and knows nothing but waiting rooms, clinics, and hospital beds. And her mother concocts more elaborate procedures... Munchausen syndrome by proxy, which hides the desire to gain attention by pretending a loved one is ill, is more common than we would like to admit. By the time this disorder is recognized, it is often too late for many children. Their parents wear them down.
