The first comprehensive monograph in our country on a topic that is constantly at the forefront of public health. The book is primarily intended for general practitioners, nursing staff in residential facilities, and public health officials. The publication primarily pursues two goals: to contribute to the definition and understanding of the agenda, significance, and application of the still little-known concept of long-term care as the third pillar of the "care area" in the Czech context, and secondly, to highlight selected clinical and ethical aspects of healthcare, particularly medical, but also nursing and rehabilitation practices within long-term care, for its clients/patients, including practices in residential facilities.
