Description

During World War II, a narrative emphasizing the motives of a united nation was formed in the struggle for the restoration of state and national sovereignty in occupied European countries. However, in this atmosphere, activities that fell outside this framework and significantly transcended it were forgotten and deliberately suppressed. Resistance fighters of various nationalities, backgrounds, and ideological beliefs engaged in resistance in other countries, created international networks, shared their combat and organizational experiences, joined various national armies, and transitioned into partisan formations, helping refugees. An international team of historians describes a wide range of aspects of this transnational cooperation in their book.
