Synopsis
In 1920s Copenhagen, portraitist Gerda Wegener asks her husband, Einar, to pose as a female model when her usual model does not arrive. The experience awakens Einar’s long-suppressed identity, and Einar begins living as Lili Elbe. Their relationship faces profound changes as Lili pursues the possibility of becoming the person she has always felt herself to be.
