Synopsis
The film is set during the turbulent time of December 1981. Devout Catholic Marianne decides to use her youngest grandson's baptism as an opportunity to reconcile her feuding children. Her plan is disrupted by General Wojciech Jaruzelski, who declares martial law in Poland. Desperate, Marianne refuses to give up on her goal and hides the truth about the political situation from the others. This seemingly small lie triggers a cascade of unexpected events that will be very difficult to stop.
