Léo et Théo 2 Guide pédagogique + 2 CD audio + DVD – Guillemant Dominique (2018)

This teacher’s guide accompanies a three-level French course for primary school pupils, covering levels A1.1 to A2.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference and also preparing learners for the DELF Prim examination. The Léo and Théo method uses an interactive, communicative and action-oriented approach. Each unit includes pages, songs, games and projects that develop language skills in a playful and stimulating setting, while specific activities effectively review communicative functions and structures. The units also include cultural pages offering an insight into French-speaking culture around the world. Depending on the level, independent sections provide craft activities, interdisciplinary CLIL activities, additional information about Francophone celebrations and short plays to perform in class. Learning progress is checked through the “My Competences” section, included after every two units. The accompanying Active Book can be used in class on an interactive whiteboard or at home on a computer, with videos, animated comic strips, recordings and interactive exercises. The teacher’s guide offers flexible and customizable teaching ideas, suggestions for extending the lessons, photocopiable coloring pages and craft activities. The DVD contains musical tales and staging suggestions for one traditional story at each level, including Hansel and Gretel, The Jungle Book and Peter Pan, along with scripts, musical backgrounds, projected scenery and tutorial videos for making costumes, preparing choreographies and creating stage props.
