Summer holidays have finally arrived, but Val is not happy: this year her parents want to go to the countryside, which she hates because she prefers the city. She eventually changes her mind, and you can discover why by reading her diary, in which she writes about her feelings, dreams and everything that happens during the holiday. At first she is desperate and bored, but things soon begin to change, especially thanks to one very special person. The Spanish-language publication includes reports, a glossary of difficult words and expressions, reading-comprehension activities, preparation exercises for the DELE Inicial exam and a final test. It covers family, love and friendship, and holidays, together with vocabulary related to the countryside and the city, cake recipes, clothes, holidays, and fruit and vegetables. Grammar topics include the present indicative, the perfect, preterite and imperfect past tenses, the future tense, discourse connectors, direct and indirect object pronouns, and the pronoun and adjective lo. Communication activities practise locating places, describing people, making suggestions, talking about feelings, moods and preferences, recounting events, making invitations and using idiomatic expressions.
