Beschreibung
The true story of three African American women who made history at NASA as so-called human computers. Black mathematicians Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Johnson contributed to NASA's greatest successes and significantly helped realize the American dream of sending a man into space and landing on the Moon. Their calculations contributed to American astronaut John Glenn's successful flight into space in 1962. The story is based on personal memories of former employees and their family members, studies of archival documents, correspondence, and newspaper articles about the trio of black women who stood at the lowest rung of the American social ladder, yet whose work forever changed the face of NASA and helped the United States dominate space during the Cold War.
