The comic was created based on interviews with five Polish women who anonymously shared their personal experiences with abortion with the authors. However, we should not expect a brief report or a news article. The flow of real events is interrupted by poetic interludes and supernatural characters, dreams, and symbols. The authors interpret the stories they heard in their own way and imprint a distinctive and immersive narrative style into them. Painful loss and a sense of relief, support and safety, but also suffocating uncertainty – even in just five stories, a wide range of circumstances and emotions related to abortion is evident. The comic does not judge anyone. It is a safe space that gives the heroines room to tell their story at their own pace, while also inviting readers to a gentle and attentive reading.
