Deus Artis – Brabec Jaroslav (2024)

The Deus Artis project summarizes nearly fifty years of photographic work by cameraman and director Jaroslav Brabec dedicated to prominent figures in art. In the beginning, his interest focused primarily on Czech artists, gradually expanding to include personalities from the global art scene. Visits to artists' studios gradually became visits to friends. Among those portrayed are now classics of the Czech visual scene such as Václav Boštík, Jan Zrzavý, Jiří Kolář, Zdeněk Sýkora, Alena Kučerová, Magdalena Jetelová, Adriena Šimotová, or Karel Malich, Milan Grygar, Stanislav Kolíbal, Kamil Lhoták. The most significant contemporary Czech creators are also represented: Eva Koťátková, Krištof Kintera, Jiří Černický, Antonín Kratochvíl, Jaroslav Róna, Viktor Pivovarov, Kurt Gebauer, František Skála, and Josef Koudelka, among many others. There are also stars of the global art world such as Ai Weiwei, Georg Baselitz, Yoko Ono, and Gerhard Richter.
