Projekty, realizace a sochařské dílo – Gahura František Lýdie (2022)

Architect František Lýdie Gahura had a decisive influence on the shaping and architectural character of the Zlín environment since the 1920s. His extensive architectural, urban, and sculptural work, along with his complicated life story, was to be forgotten after 1945 due to close ties with the Baťa company, particularly with its leadership – Tomáš Baťa, later Jan A. Baťa and Dominik Čipera. He managed to artistically evaluate the economically motivated demands of his investors and gave purely pragmatic corporate architecture an artistic dimension, enriched by local sources. Gahura's significance lay not only in his architectural and urban activities. He was not only extremely hardworking and talented but also sociable and friendly. He was one of the leading figures in Zlín, establishing and maintaining contacts with prominent architects, artists, and writers in Czechoslovakia and abroad.
