The publication 'To New Work' is a fundamental authentic document of the Baťa company. This slim book introduced every new collaborator to the ideas of Tomáš Baťa and subsequently his brother Jan Antonín. It familiarized every newcomer with the main principles of the company's philosophy. The publication was released in several editions, which differed slightly. The most significant difference is between the editions from 1927 and 1933, which is why we decided to publish both versions simultaneously. It is a timeless document, evident from the fact that as early as 1927, the Baťa company prepared several sets of ten for its collaborators – for example, on Mental Health, Physical Health, and Ten Reasons to Exercise. The publication serves as an inspiration for many contemporary companies in the sense that it suggests what an adaptation brochure for all newcomers should contain. The historical value of the document and its timelessness are also apparent from the language used and the style of communication towards newcomers to the company. For instance, the seven-point definition by Jan Antonín Baťa, presented in the 1933 edition, speaks to the reader with an appeal to be aware of whether they are in intellectual harmony with the needs of the company and clearly defines whom the company does not need.
