First published in July 1976 and sold out during the summer. Awarded the annual prize from the Profil publishing house. Czechoslovak hockey representative and later coach of Sparta or the championship Litvínov, Miloslav Hořava, called it the greatest reading experience of his boyhood in an interview for Mladá fronta. The legendary forward Tomáš Plekanec praised the book and had it sent to him in Montreal during his time in the NHL. In a poll by Mladý svět for the most popular writer, Man placed fourth, and in the Czech Television poll Book of My Heart (2009), he received the highest number of votes among authors from Ostrava thanks to Nineteen.
