It has not been possible to determine how long Branko Jelinek and Oskar Ed have known each other. Some sources claim that it might be since early childhood. What is certain is that their first collaboration took place at the beginning of this millennium when Branko offered Oskar the lead role in his comic trilogy Oskar Ed (2003–2006), the collected edition of which you are currently holding. Branko found in Oskar the ideal representative for his stories. And we can only speculate how much of the real Oskar is in the roles that Branko literally drew for him. Both remain mysteriously silent about it. In any case, it doesn't matter that much. What is important is that their collaboration has proven to be very happy and fruitful. The comic album Oskar Ed: My Greatest Dream (2016) only confirmed this. Oskar delivered a gripping performance in another painfully surreal story. It is almost certain that Branko and Oskar have not yet said their last word, a word placed in a comic bubble shaped like an ellipse or an egg, if you will. An egg in which perhaps the seed of another narrative is already being born. The second edition is being released in a new translation and graphic design.
