At the Czechoslovak Teachers' Congress, which took place on August 5, 1938, Jan Antonín Baťa delivered a speech in which he appealed to teachers on how to lead young people to entrepreneurship. The speech was republished by the Tomáš Baťa Foundation on the occasion of the ceremonial unveiling of a new statue of Jan Antonín Baťa in March 2022. In the words of Jan Antonín Baťa: 'Who is an entrepreneur? It is a person who has innate, but also cultivated abilities to act proactively, responsibly, and to turn ideas into action!' In his speech 'Education for Entrepreneurship,' Jan Antonín Baťa emphasized the need for change in the education of students. Through work, guidance towards independent thinking, and a thorough understanding of financial literacy, young people should be educated so that independent entrepreneurship becomes their natural choice of future profession.
