In the 24th century, thanks to wormhole technology, humanity colonized a number of planets and created a vast community known as the Commonwealth. They encountered only friendly or neutral forms of extraterrestrial life. This peaceful coexistence came to an end when an insignificant astronomer discovered a mysterious star separated from the surrounding world by an impenetrable energy barrier. Humanity sends a mission to this star to uncover its secrets. Upon reaching their destination, instead of investigating the mysterious barrier, they observe its equally inexplicable disappearance. The force field was created to imprison an extremely aggressive and cruel species that considers any other intelligent race a deadly threat to its existence.
