Faith, love, and hope are three fundamental forces of the soul that can never be taken away, and at the same time, they are the nourishment without which the soul, and subsequently the body, will become ill. In the presented text, Rudolf Steiner associates these forces with the individual being components of a person as well as with the developmental epochs of humanity. The second part of the book is dedicated to the significance of love in the world. Actions performed out of love do not perfect ourselves, but rather we repay our debts and enrich the world. Christ's impulse is the impulse of love; wisdom alone is not enough to understand it; love is necessary. Wisdom immersed in love brings the world to Christ.
