The book describes the life of our outstanding tennis player, Jaroslav Drobný, on 170 pages, who managed to win Wimbledon in 1954 and the international championships of France in 1951 and 1952 in the preceding years. Additionally, he became the world champion in hockey in 1947 and won silver at the Winter Olympics in St. Moritz the following year. The narrative begins in 1946 with a match at Wimbledon, then shifts to his life from 1936, through World War II and the occupation, liberation, and subsequent forced exile of Jaroslav Drobný. It describes thrilling matches with contemporary players and matches in the Davis Cup. In 1986, Jaroslav Drobný returned to Czechoslovakia, where he was present at the opening of the tennis complex in Štvanice during the Federation Cup. According to statistics, he won 140 tournaments, and from 1946 to 1955, he was ranked among the top ten in the world rankings, and in 1983 he was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, USA.
