Beschreibung
J. Kozák's publication "Complexity and Randomness of Law" offers an interesting theoretical, philosophical, and historical perspective on the process of forming a legal order as a specific complex social normative model, which is based on the requirement of bindingness supported by a system of legal and social sanctions, but – as the author emphasizes – also on mutual consensus, shared expectations, and trust that it will be adhered to. The publication is divided into three parts: 1. From Myth to Pure Legal Science; 2. Modern and Postmodern Transformations of Law; 3. Postmodern Law as a Complex System. This compilation is concluded with a final section titled A Return to Liberal Positive Law. The author draws on a rich literature and hundreds of references. The "cherry on top" of the book is the reflections on the significance of randomness in law and their chaining into a complex normative system. The publication is supplemented by an overview of the sources used.
