Pivrnec humor – Urban Petr (2019)

Cartoonist Petr Urban has published around forty books of cartoon humor, nearly thirty desk calendars, illustrated and contributed to a whole range of other books, engages in advertising activities, and also paints original canvases. Next year will mark 35 years since the start of his successful professional drawing career, during which he has been dedicated to unique cartoon humor; he will also celebrate a milestone birthday. Before this life stage, he decided to create a unique work – the longest wordless cartoon joke in the world. He presents this in his new publication PIVRNEC HUMOR and complements it with additional individual wordless jokes. Creating more than 500 wordless jokes that are understandable not only to Czech humor lovers but also to foreign ones was not easy. Similarly, choosing an all-encompassing title was a challenge, but in the end, the choice was clear: Humor – originally a Latin term, later also an English one, means good mood, cheerful whim with a tendency to joke or good-natured mockery; humor is also an anatomical term for moist tissue or bodily fluid. One thing is certain – you simply can't live without humor!
