Fans of good brass band music have known and enjoyed singing the songs "Už, kamarádi, pomalu stárnem; Jednou, dvakrát; Ty to víš; Pod jednou střechou; Muziko, muziko, česká; Šumavo, Šumavo; Nad Lužnicí svítá; Nad Vltavou se stmívá; Děvčátko z Ostravy; Na Marjánce každou neděli; Vstávej, moje nejmilejší; Zazpívej si po ránu; Povídá se, povídá; Dokud nám zdravíčko slouží; Ještě tu poslední…" These are just a few examples from the 674 songs to which Ladislav Jacura provided the lyrics. He wrote lyrics not only for brass bands but also for romantic songs that resonate into the darkness by flickering campfires. After all, his loyal friends included Jarka Mottl and Eduard Ingriš - the creator of the famous roaring "Niagara." Much of this is captured in the publication "Už, kamarádi, pomalu stárnem aneb Života román textaře Ladislava Jacury." It compellingly describes the life story of a man who was born in Subcarpathian Rus during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. After arriving in Prague, he made good friends - Karla Hašlera, Vlastu Buriana, Martin Frič, Theodor Pištěk, Zita Kabátová, Jára Kohout, and later Jaroslav Štercl, Waldemar Matuška, and other celebrities. He also reminisces about them and reveals unknown facts. The eternally smiling Ladislav Jacura is, on the other hand, remembered by television creators...
