Beschreibung
A story about Bosnia. And also about the bones that seek their names and faces. Bones from mass graves, from deep caves, and from wells. Bones of the murdered. Bosnia, the 1990s. A country, not far away, is being destroyed by war, ethnic hatred, and mass murders reminiscent of World War II. Reporters from all over the world are on the front lines, reporting live on the killings. However, after the war, everyone left, and no one remained to report on those who survived the Bosnian hell, who lost all their loved ones. Wojciech Tochman did it. He looks at Bosnia, where peace was established after 1995, through the lens of abandoned mothers and children, as well as through the eyes of doctors who want to restore names to all the nameless bones. The slim but immensely powerful book As If You Were Eating a Stone is published in a translation by Lenka Kuhar Daňhelová.
