NightWhere – Everson John (2025)

Rae wants to go as far as possible, but some thresholds are best left uncrossed. When she expresses a wish to accept a mysterious invitation to an underground sex club, Mark agrees without hesitation, even though he should not. NightWhere is no ordinary club where couples fulfil their erotic fantasies: its doors open in a different place each time, and no one outside the invited guests knows anything about it. Inside, Rae discovers with trembling excitement that she craves pain, extreme pain and perversions. To the sound of dark electronic and rock music, she gives herself over to passion while watched by the accommodating Mark and mysterious figures who quietly run the club. Everything begins in the Blue Room for beginners, after which the colours change. Rae succumbs to the club’s new way of life, but then something happens to her. There are further thresholds and dangers within the club, and Mark must protect Rae from them despite the warnings. For this Czech edition of the acclaimed 2012 erotic horror novel, John Everson has compiled a playlist of 90 songs played on the dance floor in the Blue Room, creating an atmosphere that is difficult to resist.
