A modern, colorful textbook developed according to the latest trends, in accordance with the RVP ZV, published as part of the Reading with Understanding series aimed at supporting reading literacy. The textbook aims to develop all key competencies of students in an appropriate and suitable manner. It allows for an individual approach to students, takes into account reading methods for dyslexics, and also offers advanced material for gifted students. The textbook directly follows the Living Alphabet with Cat Sam. The guiding character here is also Cat Sam, who accompanies Alenka and Michal. Cat Sam rewards children with suns again. In the Primer, students become familiar with additional letters of the alphabet, develop their reading skills, and reinforce correct reading habits. Emphasis is placed particularly on reading comprehension. The textbook also includes riddles, word searches, fill-in-the-blanks, puzzles, games, and competitions. To develop memory, many poems, rhymes, and chants are included. Attention continues to be given to vocabulary development and speech skills. In the final section of the Primer, there is a section called Our First Reading. By reading excerpts from beautiful literature, students will reinforce their reading skills and prepare for reading the reader in the following grade.
