This Czech-language reader for the seventh year of primary school is part of the Reading with Understanding series, which supports the development of reading literacy and follows the aims of the Framework Education Programme for Basic Education. Its main goal is to deepen children’s interest in literature through engaging texts and entertaining tasks that encourage reading in a natural way. Literary extracts are accompanied by questions and activities that support reading literacy, while introducing students to genres including the novella, short story, travel writing, detective fiction and song. The book also includes extracts from works popular with teenage readers, including fantasy, science fiction and humorous stories. Many of the texts are thematically connected with the seventh-year curriculum in history, geography and natural history.
