Most of us associate this word with areas near state borders, but there are also other borders in the Czech Republic – the historical ones. For example, between Moravia and Bohemia. And it is in this border region that the microregion of Moravskotřebovsko and Jevíčsko, rich in interesting scenery, is located. On one side, there is the hilly landscape under the Hřebečovský ridge, with Moravská Třebová as its center, and on the other side, the flat Malá Haná transitioning into the Bouzov Highlands with central Jevíčko. Moravská Třebová, which is the administrative center of this region, has been writing its history since the mid-13th century when it was founded as a typical colonization town with a regular layout and a Gothic castle. Under the rule of the Lords of Boskovice and Žerotín, the castle became a beautiful Renaissance chateau, and Třebová, which was a center of education, earned the nickname Moravian Athens during that enlightened period.
