Nauka o půdě – Rejšek Klement (2025)

The book "Soil Science" by Prof. Ing. Klement Rejšek, CSc., a professor at the Institute of Geology and Pedology at Mendel University in Brno, and Doc. Ing. Radim Vácha, PhD., director of the Research Institute of Melioration and Soil Protection, v.v.i., presents a modern synthesis of the properties and processes in soil on one hand and the use and protection of soil on the other. This concept of soil science is unique in Czech literature and reflects the current level of knowledge in this important field in contemporary world literature. The book is written for a very broad audience. The authors wished for both ordinary owners of fields, forests, and gardens, as well as university students and the professional public as a whole, to find their subject of interest within it. With this goal in mind, the book is adjusted both in terms of content and form: it is interestingly presented with the use of color photographs, tables, and original illustrations that illustrate the inspirational nature of understanding the processes in "the soil from which plants grow." Providing a current perspective on soil science today is not enough: what is truly modern and corresponds to the third millennium is an interdisciplinary view of the interaction between soil and plants, including soil protection.
