Two impoverished sisters live in an ugly ruin on the edge of town. Beáta is irrepressibly cheerful, while Magnólie is impossibly unpleasant, and they keep company with a family of friendly spiders. When Beáta receives some magical yarn as a gift, she and the spiders begin knitting a perfectly warm sweater. Greedy Magnólie, obsessed with profit, soon takes control and starts transforming the old house into a factory producing magical sweaters. A gigantic forest witch who wants the forest to remain forever and for everyone is far from pleased, and the spiders decide to announce a strike. This modern folk tale explores capitalism, workers’ rights and the environment, telling a story about caring for the world around us, standing up for oneself and remembering to remain a good person.
