This book is primarily intended for general practitioners in everyday clinical practice in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It reflects the growing role of general practice by presenting ECG interpretation in the context of patients’ clinical symptoms and differential diagnosis as a standard part of care for all indicated patients. A brief introduction covers ECG theory and historical aspects, followed by approximately 50 common clinical scenarios combining an ECG tracing with its correct interpretation in relation to clinical findings, laboratory results and imaging methods. The aim is for general-practitioner surgeries to perform and describe ECGs in accordance with good clinical practice, improving communication between medical specialties and optimising the patient’s path through the healthcare system towards the correct diagnosis and treatment. The monograph is designed as an integral part of postgraduate training for general practitioners and follows the requirements of the Department of General Practice of IPVZ. The contents are in Czech.
