Autoimunity nervového systému v kazuistikách II – Tichá Veronika (2023)

The second volume of the collection of case studies on autoimmune diseases of the nervous system thematically follows the first edition, but its main goal is to familiarize readers with the latest developments in recent years in both the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune diseases, as well as with entirely original experiences we have gained in connection with the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Once again, we will encounter stories of patients with rarer types of multiple sclerosis or less common reactions to treatment, hear about new treatment options for MS, and also about complications we have observed in relation to these medications. We will present a new perspective on the treatment algorithm for MS and specific situations that the changes in medication indications pertain to. A separate chapter consists of case studies of secondary autoimmune diseases of the nervous system triggered by the use of other medications, such as so-called checkpoint inhibitors in oncology indications. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has brought many valuable experiences and lessons. Therefore, we also pay great attention to the flare-ups of already diagnosed or the emergence of new autoimmune diseases after a Covid-19 infection or in connection with vaccination against this virus.
