The camp fosters deepening mutual cohesion, friendship, and a relationship to honest and proper conduct. ***** The story gradually shifts to the harsh reality of World War II, where the boys try to survive with the help of many good people. ***** The boys describe individual stories as they perceived and experienced them. The war brought them not only the loss of loved ones but also the realization of how adult people can act.
