Beschreibung
A thrilling novel with elements of a thriller by a young Moldovan writer takes place in his native Transnistria. Through predominantly childlike eyes, it captures the grim reality of post-Soviet Moldova: poverty and life 'behind the wall' in a railway depot in freight cars converted into homes. This reality also includes the civil war of the early nineties and the emergence of the pro-Russian so-called Transnistrian Republic. In contrast to the past is the present of the main character, who lives in Great Britain and works as a journalist. However, his traumas and injuries from childhood - both physical and psychological - catch up with him here as well. Due to certain family events, he is forced to overcome his fear and, under dramatic circumstances, returns from the free world to the places of his childhood. There, however, the past fully catches up with him...
