Addiction... a word often mentioned, yet trivialized. Each of us believes we are not at risk. That smoking a few cigarettes, having a drink, going for a beer, occasionally playing roulette, or betting on a sports match is harmless. But... the human soul is fragile. It has a tendency to succumb to what fascinates it. Sometimes, perhaps just for the bonuses that a certain activity brings (it's so innocent, isn't it?). However, over days, weeks, months, and years, everything deepens until... one finds themselves in a carousel that has no end. Or perhaps it does, but it takes on the guise of destruction. The story of Iveta, the main character of the novel, begins in a dysfunctional family. From an early age, she experiences domestic violence, and after her drunken stepfather stabs her mother before her eyes, she ends up in a children's home. Here, another trauma occurs, and Iveta turns to drugs to forget all the bad. But hallucinogens, later along with a new boyfriend, gradually turn her life into hell. After a severe accident, also caused by addiction, Iveta ends up as a quadriplegic and wishes only to die. However, the fates have written a slightly different script for her...
