Just as every coin has two sides, so does the life of Rebeka Kalendová have two faces. One that shows the world a content wife and a happy mother, and then the painful one that is hidden somewhere deep inside her. In her youthful naivety, she believed the sweet promises of Luboš Kalenda, who cared more about winning than about a life with her. He wanted to seize what other men longed for but failed to obtain. It was Rebeka's affection, devotion, and eventually her freedom. However, Rebeka's dreams of true love and a loving husband soon faded away. Love and admiration for Luboš gradually transformed into fear and hatred over the years they spent together. The insults he hurled at her, the commands, humiliation, contempt, rudeness, and physical assaults became an inseparable part of her life. No one suspected what was happening behind the closed doors of this seemingly happy family. A sudden decision to end it all, however, compelled Rebeka to get into her car and press the gas pedal all the way to the floor after one of their arguments. That fateful day changed the course of her entire life...
