This Czech-language travel guide provides more detailed information about places in Turkey that Czech tourists have visited or may be planning to visit, including Kemer, Phaselis, Myra (Demre), Pamukkale, Olympos, Antalya and Alanya. Information in Czech is scarcely available, while English- and German-language sources are limited, partly because some archaeological and natural sites have not yet been thoroughly explored and research is only beginning. The author also explains why he wrote the book: he prefers the comfort of package holidays, where he can choose between excursions and relaxing on the hotel beach. As holiday prices in Turkey, especially outside the main season, have fallen significantly, a seaside stay can often cost less than a comparable domestic holiday, allowing people who would not normally travel to enjoy the sea while also discovering the thousand-year history of modern Turkey.
