Beschreibung
This publication addresses a highly controversial topic related to the Islamic religion, namely the perception of truth and lies or hypocrisy in Islam. Anyone who points out the possibility that Muslims are allowed to lie and pretend according to Islamic law is immediately silenced with accusations of Islamophobia or hatred. Unfortunately, many Czech orientalists and religious scholars have succumbed to this unfortunate trend, either avoiding the topic of hypocrisy in Islam and reinforcing further tabooization of this issue, or conversely denying the facts and using their professional authority to attempt to deny its existence. The basis of the book you hold in your hands is a professional assessment that was prepared in response to claims made by Canadian Islamists. They attempted to defend their position in Canadian court that there is no justification for hypocrisy in Islamic law. Their goal was to silence one of the critics of Islam and Islamism. After this assessment was presented to the court, the Islamists withdrew their lawsuit. About the author: Raymond Ibrahim (*1973, USA) graduated from California State University Fresno, where he focused his thesis on the military encounters between Islam and Byzantium at the dawn of Islam.
